Questions, answered
Most of what people ask is below. If yours is not there, the form on the right reaches the same inbox as everything else.
Ordering
When will my coffee be roasted?
On the next roast day after you order, which is a Tuesday or a Friday. Order before 9am on a roast day and it goes out that afternoon. Nothing is roasted before somebody orders it, which is slower and is the entire reason the business exists.
Why is something sold out so often?
We buy green coffee in small lots, a few bags at a time, and when a lot is gone it is gone. There is usually something similar on the shelf, and if you tell us what you liked about the one that sold out we will point you at the closest thing.
Can I set up a repeating order?
Not through the site yet. Email us with what you drink and how fast you get through it and we will put you on the list, roast it on the same schedule and invoice monthly. Most people on it are getting a kilo a fortnight.
Brewing
Which grind should I choose?
Whole bean if you own a grinder, because coffee goes stale far faster once ground. Filter for a pour-over, a plunger or a drip machine. Espresso for a machine with a portafilter. If you are between two, take whole bean and we will include a note on where to set your grinder.
How long should I keep it before drinking it?
Give it three days to settle and then drink it inside a month. Coffee is at its best somewhere between five and twenty-five days off the roast. The roast date is on the bag, not a best-before date invented eighteen months out.
Should I freeze it?
A kilo you will not finish in a month, yes. Split it into weekly portions first, freeze those, and take one out at a time. Do not freeze and thaw the same bag repeatedly, which is worse than just leaving it in the cupboard.
Delivery and returns
How long does postage take?
Perth metro is usually next day. The eastern states are two to four business days on standard post, and regional addresses can take a day or two longer. We would rather say that than quote a number we cannot hold to.
What if it is not what I hoped for?
Tell us within fourteen days and we will replace it or refund it, whichever you would rather. We will not ask you to post it back, because we cannot resell it. Keep it or pass it to somebody who will drink it.
That would have sent.
This is where the confirmation sits on a live site, and a copy would already be in the roastery's inbox.

We are a roastery rather than a café, so there is nobody on a counter. Email is genuinely the fastest way to reach one of us.
